NDLEA arrest suspect with cannabis

The Kogi State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has discovered 56.6 kilogrammes of compressed cannabis inside a moving car engine compartment as it recorded the arrest of 43 suspected drug dealers in the State. A total of 2,827 kilogrammes of dried weeds that tested positive for cannabis were seized from the drug suspects. The arrests and seizures took place within the State between January and May 2011 as part of efforts to halt the spread of illicit drugs.
The NDLEA Commander in the State Alhaji Idris Bello while presenting the command’s score card in the past five months stated that the location of the Kogi State as a link between cannabis producing States in the south and States in the north has placed more demand on the command. He also noted that most of the seizures were drugs on transit intercepted by his men on motorised patrol of major highways and link roads leading to northern States.
