Justice Donatus Okorowo of a Federal High Court in Abuja, will today determine the merit of an application seeking the release of the former Speaker, House of Representatives, Mr Dimeji Bankole, from the custody
of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, where he has spent six days even as the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ogun State has urged the EFCC not to use him as an example. Following the refusal of the trial Judge to accede to an oral application made by his lead counsel, Chief Adegboyega Awomolo, SAN, shortly after he pleaded not guilty to the 16-count charge preferred against him by the ant-graft agency on Monday, his team of lawyers, promptly filed a formal bail application before the high court on that same day.
