Workers in Ebonyi State defy strike #savenigeria #fuelsubsidy

Civil servants resume at their duty posts and banks provide skeletal services .Workers in Ebonyi State, on Monday, ignored the directive of the organised labour unions by ignoring the appeals by the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) to join the nationwide strike.

Most state and federal ministries and parastatals conducted their normal activities, as state workers said they still had not been paid salaries for the strike they went on in September 2011 as the state government only paid those who were at their duty posts during the strike then declared by the state branch of the NLC.
The workers who spoke to Daily Times explained that the state governor’s radio broadcast on Sunday night warning that the removal of the petrol subsidy was irrevocable and irreversible gave them they forewarning that observing the protest could cost them their jobs and salaries.
