Civil servants in Ondo State on Thursday embarked on indefinite strike, to back up their demand for payment of the N18,000 minimum by government.
Government activities in Akure, the state capital, were paralysed as a result of the industrial action.
The state chapter of the NLC had on Wednesday directed its members to stay at home as from Thursday after the seven-day ultimatum given to the state government.
All government offices were shut down following the NLC’s directive.
Some policemen were stationed at the gate leading to the governor’s office, while all other government agencies and parastatal were deserted.
