The newly- elected 47th President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria,ICAN, Professor Francis Ojaide, has described hard work, diligence and dedication to service at all levels of commitment
and the fear of God as fundamental to personal and national development. He stated this at a thanksgiving service at ECWA, Plateau Church, following his emergence as the new ICAN President
He recounted his days of humble beginning as a junior staff of the University of Jos, noting that it takes only God for a nobody like him to occupy the office of the ICAN Presidency.

Ojaide, who is the Head of Department of Accounting in the university, is also to serve as the 17th President of the Association of Accountancy Bodies in West Africa and the 2nd President of the Pan African Federation of Accountants.

He had previously served as Treasurer and Board Member of same bodies as well as being a pioneering and Federal Government appointed member of the VAT Tribunal, visiting lecturer at the Nigeria Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna, amongst others.
In his exhortation, Pastor Olalekan Akinleye admonished all to never give up on God, noting that Ojaide is a tested, tried and triumphant personality who has what it takes to move the accounting profession and national economy to the next level.
