Barcelona striker David Villa has backed his club's pursuit of potential signings Cesc Fabregas and Alexis Sanchez.The Camp Nou oufit saw a €30 million (£26.7m) bid turned down for the Arsenal captain earlier
this week and are currently in a battle with Manchester City over Udinese's Chilean superstar but are still hopeful that they can recruit both men before the start of the season.And Villa, who joined the club last summer, feels that the pair would improve the team to a great extent.
He told Barcelona's official website: "They are two very good players at both an individual and collective level, and it would be a big injection of quality for our side."
The 29-year-old also admitted that he would like to play alongside Valencia's Juan Mata in Barcelona, having done so at the Mestalla before his move to the European champions.
The 23-year-old winger is being tracked by a number of clubs in England, with Liverpool thought to be the player's most likely destination, but Villa would like to see his former team-mate at Camp Nou.
He said: "Imagine what it would mean for me personally, Mata is like a brother. I love him very much.
"To have him back around me would be like a dream.
"He is a great person and a great player."
