Two explosives have been detonated close to Galadima junction and Customs Area of Maiduguri Metropolis, minutes before the commencement of accredition of voters ahead of the presidential election today.

A similar bomb exploded last night at the INEC office along Tashar kano and the latest blast occured few metres away from a poling unit.
A witness, Mallam Hassan who lives near the blast site told Daily Trust: "I heard a loud bang around 7.50am and when I went close to the scene, I saw people scampering for safety.'
He said he saw one man on the ground. 'I cannot tell if he is alive or dead.' Other witnesses also said one Police Officer in need of medical attention was seen been taking away in a vehicle.
As at the time of filing this report, there has been no official statement from the police but the Joint Task Force have cordoned off the sites from the public.
