Rupert Murdoch was attacked while being quizzed by MPs on the News of the World phone hacking scandal. During questioning a man in a checked shirt tried to attack the News Corp chairman.
The assailant appeared to throw a white substance at the 80-year-old.
But aids intervened to tackle the perpetrator. Mr Murdoch's wife Wendi jumped in to defend her husband, slapping the dark-haired man away, before police rushed across the committee room to detain him.
