Lagos flood; Most devastating flood ever in Nigeria

The Federal Government, Monday,  has described the flood that affected most parts of Lagos State as the most devastating in Nigeria,  in 2011.

The Director General of National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, Muhammad Sani-Sidi  during  his on-the-spot assessment of some affected areas  said, ” the unprecedented flood was as  a result of the length of rain,  heavy downpour, blockage of water channels and drainages, indiscriminate dumping of refuse and building of houses along channels.”

According to him, “  the team would inspect the level of damage for necessary intervention by the government.”
